In the Eastern side Milos is found Paliorema , bight with spotless waters and yellow pebbles, colored from sulfur. There it functioned theiorycheio Viktora Mela, the older enterprise of export of sulfur Pan-Hellenic.
In Paliorema or Theiorycheia you can combine your bathroom with one from the geological sights of mining history of island. Can seat in the beach with the colourful pebbles and the beautiful sandy beach, while at the same time you swim with view the old quarries of export of sulfur and the ruins from the installations of factory. Wagons of transport with his rails, tools, ruins of offices, parts and personal objects of workers of quarry, create a enchanting landscape.
Historical, between 1890-1905 they functioned from the Company Public and Municipal Work. In 1905 their operation stopped because production of cheap sulfur in America, 1910-1918 functioned sporadic, while the decade the 30' existed complete operation and were created the installations that are saved up to today. Theiorycheia functioned until 1960, while the enterprise closed finally in 1978.
