Behind the church of Virgin Mary of Korfiatissas in Plaka, you will find the Folklore and Background of Museum Milos . The museum was founded in 1967 from the “Union of in Athens Apple trees” and in this has the occasion to learn for the life of Apple trees afterwards the 17th century (mainly from 1850 up to 1930, that it was a period of acne for Miliaki society).

With your visit in this museum you will travel in a other season , one and you will see how was urban Mileiko household of 19th century. The museum is not the subject of faith representation of type of mileikoy household, but with starting line often disparate, is litted up the aspects of life of residents of that season: their occupations inside and except the house, the influences from other places, their alimentary and preferences, the way that had fun, the organization of space and their time and the exploitation of local resources.

In this two-storied museum it is constituted by the lounge and the unique exhibits that exist in this, from the working place where is found the loom, from the cooker of house, the bedroom, the cellar (that it was also useful as deposit of rural products), and from the gallery that constitutes a historical file. In all these rooms you can admire also, furnitures, embroideries, costumes of that season, utensiles for the house decorative and daily objects as well as old photographs.
